I enjoy collaborating with post-graduate students, and have had very positive experiences so far with remote mentoring. Examples of students’ work I collaborated with can be found here, here, here, here, and here. I am currently involved at various degrees with advising or co-supervising one MSc and three PhD students in the UK, South Africa, the USA and Belgium. It is nowadays so easy to communicate via email and Skype or the likes that the only constrain, really, is time zone difference.
Prospective students, if you come to me with relatively well-defined research questions I would definitely consider helping you with spatial analyses, statistical analyses, and to some extent writing tips. I will also honestly decline if I feel I will have no time to invest, because I don’t want to let you down after I started getting involved. One more thing: be ready to work in R. And don't forget to visit the main Research tab for possible project announcements.
